Transparency

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well, staying healthy, safe and sane. I know that last one can be the biggest challenge on our fifth week of quarantine. I have been getting a lot of re-opening questions and I just wanted to kind of lay it all out there for everyone, with transparency.


We are still shut down and will continue to be until we get the "green light" from the state and local government. There is no "re-opening" date announced as of today. When that date does become public knowledge, you will all be the first to know!


My books are currently closed. I am not taking any future appointments until we do get a re-opening date. I will start scheduling by first cancelled and I will not be accepting new clients at this time. I honestly do not know the types of restrictions they will put on my industry, but I want to come back mindful of everyone's health and safety. I see 65-75 clients in a month. In regards to COVID-19, that is a lot of exposure for both me and you. Based on information that I have gathered from other states, who are further along in the re-opening process, it could look quite different the next time you go into the salon. I am expecting to have a lot of guidelines and restrictions put into place from the state government and state licensing agencies. Because we can’t practice social distancing and with our job requiring us to touch people, I would expect to see hairstylists wear some protective clothing, masks, magazines removed, contactless payments, changes to waiting areas. And clients may be required to wear masks, have temperature taken, wash hands before appointment starting and when you leave. How many people can be in the salon at once also seems like a current restriction in other states.


Here are a few things I am doing during this time:

  • I am working on extending the number of days that I will be in the salon.

  • I am Barbicide certified; I have received training and understanding of proper sanitation and disinfection practices and procedures consistent with the current highest industry standards.

  • I am working on creating zoom or FaceTime consultations so that the correct appointment time is scheduled for you.

  • I am working on creating new policy and procedures to maintain health and safety

  • I am procuring essentials that will be needed, ahead of time

  • I am working on redesign to ensure proper distancing


Thank you for being a loyal client. I can't wait to see you all, I have been thinking about every one of you during this time!
