I hope everyone is doing well and settling into this new, hopefully very temporary, way of life. California has had a "stay home" order since Friday, March 20th and we have been trying to find a balance between getting work done and homeschooling our kids. Both of our kids receive therapies (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and applied behavioral analysis) through school and home. Becoming a therapist on top of a teacher and mom has been challenging. But I am grateful to be spending all of this extra time with my little ones!
Professionally, having to close the salon has completely shattered our hearts. Katie and I love each and every one of our clients so much and it is so hard having an indefinite closure. There is just so much uncertainty right now in the world. On the bright side, we are working on a lot of great things. This quarantine is giving us time to build a stronger business now that we have more time to work on the "behind the scenes" things. We are collaborating with our scheduling and credit card processing company, Gloss Genius to create e-giftcards. We are working on getting products sent out. I'm in the beginning stages of starting a podcast. Since nail and hair salons have closed, I am now offering Color Street as your nail salon alternative during this time.. let me know if you'd like samples!
I am starting this blog to stay connected with my clients. Being a hairstylist is such a personal profession and I don't want to lose that just because we have to stay in. I wanted to feature a product, and given that I have not washed my hair in 3 days.. I have chosen to feature Amika's Perk Up dry shampoo. It smells amazing and works great! Pro tip: spray in, let sit for a few minutes and then flip your head over and shake it out. The oils will absorb and the extra product will shake out. Amika is cruelty-free and free from Sulfates and Parabens. Follow me on instagram @panda_reuther and @amandacainsd
